NT fishing and boating aficionados have more information at their fingertips, with the launch of a smartphone fishing plus boating app, entrenching the Top End as Australia’s best fishing destination.
The redesigned version associated with NT Fishing Mate, renamed NT Fishing and Boating Mate, is the essential digital companion for recreational fishers and boaters in the Territory.
Developed by local company Digitally Buzzed and with NT Fisheries and Marine safety, the app offers anglers and boaters an user friendly, one-stop app on everything from the fishing and boating rules, tide and wind information, safe boating information and the best fishing times.
New features include direct access to your current locations tidal and wind info with seven-day forecasts, as well as direct links to the Bureau of Meteorology website for more detailed weather information.
To help launch the app, a 2-month long competition will allow users to be in the particular running to win a yeti cooler by using the app’s mapping and reporting function.
Location details will be published on the NT Fisheries social media page plus a location pin will be provided on the app map. Users who then provide a photo through the location via the app’s the reporting function may be eligible for the particular prize.
The competition will help users become more familiar with how the updated smartphone app works.
