In December of 2021, we brought our certified boat test process to the innovative Volvo Penta Aquamatic, putting it through the paces with a side-by-side run to the Bahamas from West Palm Beach, Florida. We pit the new SŌLACE 415CS center console, powered by Volvo Penta supercharged twin D6-440 diesel Aquamatic DPI inboards, against an identically-sized SŌLACE 41CS powered by Mercury V12 600hp outboards.

Come along “behind the seen” with Boating editor-in-chief Kevin Falvey, Solace Boats president Todd Albrecht, and Volvo Penta Regional Sales Manager Arjen Steegstra as they embark on this 215-mile one way boat test, document the results for a Boating magazine feature, and have some fun along the way (fishing, snorkeling, and a quick tour of the Abacos).

Look out for the unfiltered side-by-side comparison of performance, fuel efficiency, maneuverability, deck/transom space, and more in the April issue of Boating.
