The start of the boat show season is here, and there is one show in particular that should be in every show-goer’s calendar.
The Abu Dhabi International Boat Show (ADIBS) , taking place from 24 to 27 November, will not only showcase the particular latest from the boating industry, but moves Abu Dhabi further into the spotlight as a great yachting destination with the particular support of the show’s strategic partner, Abu Dhabi Maritime.
For those planning a visit to the show, here’s what you can look forward to.
A fresh format
In its fourth year, ADIBS will be held in Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre’s (ADNEC) marina and at the newly-completed waterfront Marina Hall. The state-of-the-art venue is usually one of the few in the world with the ability to host indoor, outdoor and marine events simultaneously. Here the show will occupy the majority of the marina with 40% more boats in attendance compared to last year.
The show has already developed a reputation as a great day out for boat lovers and their families, cultivating an accessible, educational and approachable atmosphere for marine enthusiasts to see and learn about the latest releases in the boating, fishing plus water sports arena across an area over 40, 000 square metres within size.
Last year, over 8, 000 visitors passed through the gates — impressive numbers for a show in its infancy. There, they met with exhibitors that represented more than 350 brands, across an array of categories including boats, yachts and superyachts; marine products; water sports; fishing equipment; boat construction, repairs and equipment; marine services; plus boat and yachts interiors, architecture and design.
And every 12 months, the event is getting bigger and better with organisers excited for what the 2022 edition is set to deliver.
Leading names such as Sunreef Yachts and Falcon Tenders have already been confirmed as exhibitors for the 2022 show, bringing a range of exciting new launches.
Falcon Tenders will be presenting two luxury tenders, Miss Wonderley and Miss Leblanc, while Sunreef Yacht International will have the Sunreef 60 sailing catamaran on display.
The event is a great chance in order to showcase the region’s yacht builders and their new launches. EVO Yachts will certainly premier its EVO Private yacht R4 at the event. Gulf Craft, I Marine’s and Gulf Master are other UAE-based builders to discover while you’re there. Germany’s Mayla Yachts and SAY Carbon Yachts will also be present with in-water displays.
Along with a line-up of new launches, show attendees will have the opportunity to take part in a range of activities, including the particular latest attraction, the #NaviagationHub. This area is dedicated to teaching and offering visitors a range associated with marine activities, with another section catered to the younger visitors who would like the opportunity to fish and learn from experience anglers. For the foodies in presence, celebrity chefs will be on hand to share tips on topics such as how to make the best sushi and what to make from algae.
On November 26, the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club is going to be hosting the UAE Flyboarding championship, bringing together the region’s leading professional flyboarders along with freestyle Aquabike world champion, Rashed Al Mulla, who will be showing off his skills. Especially for those who would like to try, or already enjoy boating on a smaller scale, model boating may also be present at this year’s show.
Tie it in with…
A visit to the particular FI Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. The season finale of the Formula One season gets underway just four days before ADIBS opens its doors in the YAS Marina circuit, less than 30 minutes away by car. The race always attracts some of the biggest superyachts in the world — see what names attended the particular 2021 race here — meaning there’s no better time to celebrate yachting in the region.
This year also sees the particular launch of the show’s Platinum Ticket offering, which gives visitors unlimited priority access to the show on all four days and access in order to the Platinum Lounge – ideal for meetings with suppliers or industry peers.
